About Julie Beanland
My name is Julie and I have been working with dogs for most of my life. I became a junior dog handler at dog events when I was only 10, showing Afghan Hounds. This is when I also started grooming dogs for shows and competitions, spending an average 5 to 6 hours twice a week getting them prepared and looking their best for competition day.
I have had numerous wins at Crufts in the Afghan Hounds category over the years with different dogs and have also taken part in international championships at the highest level in England,Ireland, France, Luxembourg, obtaining major wins, including the Euro Dog Show. I am now a professional dog handler at shows and have been invited to judge a number of dog show events.
I joined Waggy Tails in February 2014 and following on Waggy Tail’s grooming principles I also groom dogs without restraints (please see below for more information) bringing my extensive grooming experience to the business. Katia (Waggy Tails owner) says: “Julie has a natural talent for design and style and grooms beautifully. Waggy Tails is very lucky to have such a great groomer!”

About Katia Jardine
My name is Katia Jardine and I am the business owner of Waggy Tails Grooming. I have been a dog groomer since September of 2011 following a 6-week full time intensive course. I subsequently obtained a City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming. What attracted me to my first course in particular was the fact that the trainer taught us how to groom dogs without restraints, just dog psychology, the right way of handling dogs, and lots of love and patience. I have found this to work wonders as dogs appear to be a lot calmer and actually enjoy going to the groomers!
I am a member of the Pet Care Trust and the British Dog Groomers Association. I keep myself updated by constantly learning new techniques, attending shows (Festival of Grooming), seminars and championships (British Dog Grooming Championship) and reading a number of magazines, blogs and publications of the grooming world. I have also a City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming.
My background includes a BA in Music and a Diploma in Business Management plus an extensive career in marketing, most recently as an online marketing consultant (shame I never seem to have the time to apply these techniques myself!). After 20 odd years working in an office based environment I was compelled to do something that would be a bit more hands on, use my love of dogs and arts & crafts and hence Waggy Tails Grooming was born!
In the last 3 years Waggy Tails has been going from strength to strength thanks to lots of recommendations and word of mouth and I’m pleased to say we have expanded to take in Julie Beanland, a very talented groomer – see above for more details. In fact I have now taken a seat back only working one day a week (Mondays) and Julie works the remaining 4 week days.
About Sandra Farewell
Hi my name is Sandra Farewell.
My experience with dogs started as a dog trainer (over 18 years ago) and as I was running my own landscaping business at the time I did it as a hobby giving free lessons and advice to anyone who needed my help. Because some dogs for one reason or another will not tolerate being handled by a groomer I started helping owners by showing them how to wash their own dogs. This was about 14 years ago and in that time I have washed and trimmed dogs with all kinds of behavioural problems ranging from the very nervous to the very naughty, but eventually they all learn to trust me and with time begin to relax. I’ve even had some fall asleep while being groomed. I have a great passion for all dogs, their needs and happiness always comes first.
I started working at Waggy Tails in September 2013 and left in March 2014 to travel to Australia and work as the in-house groomer for a pet shop in Perth. After a whole year there I am now happy to return to Waggy Tails and rejoin the team.
